Is Anything In Life Really FREE? |
|
|
|
Warning: If You’ve Downloaded Free Software From The Internet, Your Computer May Be At Risk For Viruses, Hackers, and Spyware! We’ve all heard the saying that the best things in life are free, but I’m not sure they were referring to software. Freeware (free software, not to be confused with open source software) such as the AVG anti-virus free edition, Spybot, and Ad-Aware are all programs you can download for the ultimate discount: free. However, you get what you pay for. While these programs may work just fine for someone’s home computer, they are not business-class tools and should not be trusted to completely protect your computer or network from viruses, spy-ware, hackers, and other problems. Every month we receive calls from clients who are infected with a nasty virus or boatload of spy-ware who had these programs installed and running, and were under the false assumption that they were protected.

Are You Making This Deadly Mistake With Your Company’s Critical Data and Files? |
|
Imagine walking into your office tomorrow only to discover that a virus, hacker, or system failure had erased every file on your computer. How confident are you that your data could be restored? If you are not backing up your network - or if you are, but have never tested your backups by performing a full system restore - you are at high risk for losing irreplaceable company files and information. We recommend backing up every night and performing a full system restore once a month to ensure your backup system is working. It’s not uncommon for backup files to become corrupt and useless, and you certainly don’t want to wait for a crisis situation to find out the backup system you had in place was not working.

"Fallen Out Of Love" With Your Computer Consultant? |
|
You have someone you call whenever your computer network starts “acting up,” but you have a feeling deep down that they really aren’t doing the best job for you.
First off, it seems like they just can’t seem to make things work. Why do problems constantly crop up? After all, is it really THAT hard to make those darn computers work the way they’re supposed to? Then when you call for help, you get voicemail; and sometimes you have to call multiple times before you get someone to call you back. They don’t follow through on their promises, brush off your questions, or get so technical when they DO explain what’s going on, that you end up wishing you never asked in the first place. Makes you wonder if they really know what they’re doing!

5 Reasons Why Companies Large And Small Are Rushing To Implement “E-mail Archiving” To Protect Themselves
Here’s an issue you may not have given much thought to, but that could become a major issue at some point: saving e-mail communications to employees and clients that contain company policy changes, contract changes, alerts or other critical communications. So why not just save them in your inbox?
Because eventually you’ll run out of space; and searching through hundreds of thousands of e-mails is not always a simple and easy task. Here are 5 BIG reasons why you need an e-mail archiving system:
1. Compliance. While the e-mails and data subject to regulatory statutes varies by industry, ALL e-mails that contain employee and client records, contract negotiations, company policy changes and employee reviews and reprimands should be stored and archived for easy retrieval.
2. Litigation Support. If you are ever sued, you may be ordered by the court to produce documentation to support your case; such documentation includes e-mails. Problem is, pulling e-mails off a tape drive backup can be a massive undertaking. In one such case, USB Bank had to pay an IT firm over $265,000 to pull e-mail communications previously sent.
3. Free Up Storage Space. If you’ve ever had your e-mail stop working because you’ve exceeded your storage space, you know how frustrating this can be. Archiving eliminates this problem finally and forever.
4. Improve Workflow Systems And Procedures. Another upside to e-mail archiving is your ability to search, document and organize information pertaining to servicing customers, delivering a product, sending out an RFP, selecting vendors, etc.
5. Ease Of Finding E-mails. Let’s face it; we’ve all had the daunting task of trying to find an e-mail sent months ago. An e-mail archiving system would allow you to perform searches of both keywords and attachments to find e-mails in minutes – even seconds – rather than hours or days.
